Prof. Félix Suazo

Félix Suazo is a curator, art critic and professor. He studied at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana and completed a Master's Degree in Museology at the University of Valladolid, Spain.

 

He worked as a researcher and curator at the National Art Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas, activities that he also carried out at Periférico Caracas (Contemporary Art), the Sala Trasnocho (Contact Art) and the El Annexo (Contemporary Art).

In 2018 he was appointed the Pedagogical Curator of the XIV Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador. Later on, and between 2021 and 2023, Felix managed the Special Projects Division of the Pinta Miami Art Fair.

 

Currently, he is a member of the International Association of Art Critics-AICA (Venezuelan Chapter). His texts are regularly published in Arte al Día, ArtNexus, Tráfico Visual and Artishock.

He is the author of the books "Willy-Nilly. Commentaries on Art and Politics" (2005), "Thresholds of Museology" (2013) and "Panorama. Emerging Art in Venezuela. 2000-2012" (2014).

Nowadays, Felix is the co-editor of the newsletter About Images, edited by Art Media Gallery; and also the Curator of IDArt Lab space en Miami.
