Marilena is an Executive Coach with more than 18 years of experience in the Human Resources area. He had an executive career in Fortune 500 companies in the Latin America and United States region.

 

Before beginning his coaching career, he was Vice President of Human Resources for Citigroup. Among his many challenges was covering the Latin American Division, managing the technology and telecommunications area, with responsibility for 23 countries and 7000 employees.

 

In her role as an Executive she learned to live in the uncertainty that continuous organizational changes bring , how to manage cross-functional and matrix teams through different leadership styles and cultures, the challenges of acquisitions and mergers, the closure of plants, layoffs, talent recruitment, managerial development, executive coaching, and teambuilding.

 

She also worked with unionized employees at Pepsi Cola International bottlers in the Latin American Region. Also at Compaq Computers, now HP, at its headquarters in Houston Texas. His work experience includes companies such as Detroit Edison, Chrysler, HAY Management Consultants, Monsanto - Spain and Petróleos de Venezuela.

 

As a Coach she has been a pioneer and founder of the first worldwide association of Spanish-speaking coaches, "Coaches in Spanish", and was also President of the International Coach Federation at its headquarters in South Florida. She is frequently featured in professional circles as an expert lecturer in her field and has also done shows on the Univision TV channel, the world's largest Spanish-language channel. She has contributed to the publication of several articles on managerial development in media such as magazines in the USA Hispanic Business Journal, Latina Style, Reforma (newspaper in Mexico), Entorno Laboral (Mexico), Knowledge and Management (Argentina), and Gerente magazine (Venezuela ).

 

His academic merits include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and a Master of Business (MBA) from the prestigious University of Michigan. His Coach degree is from Coach University and he is certified as a High Impact Team Mentor Coach. Marilena is one of the few Latino Coaches certified as a Coach Professional - PCC, by the International Coach Federation. It is also the first Latin American to be part of the organizing committee of the Executive Coaching Summit, a select group of Executive Coaches who meet once a year to share best practices.

 

She also leads a virtual group of more than 120 Spanish-speaking coaches worldwide through the ICF, where they share knowledge and best practices. He recently founded the company "Sabertela", a professional education center for leadership training and management in Spanish.

 

Marilena is an advisor to the Laureaute Education group on Master's degree programs in Business, as well as an adjunct professor at the Harvard Business School, Florida Atlantic University, Wharton Business School and University of Florida Executive Education Center.

 

Marilena is fond of travel, Latin American music, Zumba, Photography, diving, Yoga.

She lives in South Florida with her husband Patrick and their 4 children.
